Inner Balance Classes

Find a class that works for you. We’ll do the rest.

What is Pilates?

Pilates, named after Joseph Pilates, who founded the exercise method, is a low-impact workout that aims to lengthen, strengthen and encourage correct alignment throughout the body.

Working with the breath, Pilates involves controlled movements and core activation (don’t worry, we’ll teach you how) and will see you gain strength to perform daily activities better, stronger and with less injury as a result.

Unlike other workouts, Pilates focuses on the deeper muscle groups, which not only support the outer muscles, but also support the spine. For those who suffer from general soreness, weakness or simply want to improve muscle tone and feel more capable – Pilates is a fantastic option. You can start at a beginner level and slowly progress. There is no pressure at Inner Balance to bite off more than you can chew. We encourage you to take your time, understand the movement and grow at your own pace.

The best thing about Pilates? You can feel the difference. Give yourself a few sessions to settle in, understand basic form and technique and then watch yourself grow. Progress is continuous, even for professionals! There are always ways to improve, modify and cater the movements to each individual, whether you are wanting a challenge, or dealing with an injury.

Although you practice the exercises unaccompanied on your reformer, at Inner Balance Pilates – we all work together as a team. When you attend a class at Inner Balance, you are encouraged and supported by both our friendly instructors and our wonderful group of clients. Pilates can be a physically beneficial activity for you, but it can also be just as beneficial to you both mentally and socially.

So, what are you waiting for? Come and give Pilates a try at Inner Balance Pilates. We don’t want to toot our own horn, but we are sure you won’t regret it.

About Inner Balance Pilates

Inner Balance Pilates was created by Alana Mueller in 2009. Her passion for health and wellbeing saw her make a career change in 2002, leaving her corporate career behind and venturing down a new path towards Pilates.

A passionate person to the core, Alana’s former career saw her working long days at a desk and feeling the repercussions of poor posture, stress and tension. When she decided to make Pilates a part of her everyday life, her life began to change for the better.

“The benefits I discovered were truly amazing. I no longer had soreness anywhere, my body-awareness increased, my posture improved, my muscles lengthened and grew stronger. I felt taller and I no longer felt tired & exhausted come the end of the working week.” – Alana.

Alana holds a Diploma in Clinical Pilates, a Certificate IV in Pilates, a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy stream), a Certificate IV in Fitness, and is a Full Certified Stott® Pilates Instructor. Now with over eighteen years Pilates teaching experience & over twenty years in the fitness industry, she has made Inner Balance a place where clients feel welcome, comfortable and nurtured, all while learning about their bodies.

Fast forward to today, and Inner Balance Pilates is thriving. Why? Because of the passion that exists within the walls of the studio. Alana and her amazing team of Pilates instructors share a passion for Pilates that is contagious. Clients soon realise that their weekly classes at Inner Balance are a part of life they don’t want to live without, because they too are passionate about their wellbeing.
This is the greatest gift we can share – and one that we are ready to give you at Inner Balance Pilates.
